Frequently Asked Questions

Ordering & Availability

Why should I order a Petit Oak Sample Door before buying a full kitchen set?

Photos on screens can vary significantly due to display settings, lighting, and photography angles. Ordering a Petit Oak Sample Door allows you to see the actual finish, color, and surface texture in your home’s natural lighting alongside countertops, flooring, backsplash, and paint samples. This helps you confirm the warm brown tone and slim Shaker design before purchasing matching cabinetry.

What size is the Petit Oak Sample Door?

The Petit Oak Sample Door measures 14 1/2 inches wide by 14 1/2 inches high. This Forevermark Cabinetry sample allows you to examine its slim Shaker frame, recessed center panel, and warm brown finish before purchasing full-size cabinets.

Are samples fully finished door samples or just small color swatches?

Our sample doors are actual finished door faces designed to represent the materials, construction, and finishing processes used for full-sized cabinet doors. They allow you to examine the door proportions, frame, center panel, and finish rather than relying on a small flat color swatch.

Materials & Quality Inspection

What should I look for when examining my door sample?

When inspecting your Petit Oak Sample Door, pay attention to these details:

• Construction: Examine the actual door frame, recessed center panel, edges, and overall door assembly.
• Finish Quality: Observe the warm brown color, surface consistency, and finish along the door edges.
• Profile Detail: Inspect the narrow slim Shaker frame and recessed center panel to ensure the design matches your kitchen style.

Why does my painted sample door list HDF/MDF instead of 100% solid wood?

High-Density Fiberboard (HDF) and Medium-Density Fiberboard (MDF) are engineered wood materials commonly used in cabinet doors because they provide a stable, consistent surface. Some door styles combine solid wood frames with engineered center panels. The exact materials used in your Petit Oak Sample Door should be confirmed against the manufacturer’s specifications rather than assuming every part is solid wood.

Why does my stained sample door look slightly different from the photos online?

Wood-toned finishes can appear different due to lighting conditions, photography, and screen color settings. Where natural wood or veneer is used, variations in grain and texture may also affect the appearance. Viewing the Petit Oak Sample Door under different lighting conditions helps you evaluate its actual warm brown finish before purchasing matching cabinetry.
