Frequently Asked Questions

Ordering & Availability

Why should I order a Sonona Sand Sample Door before buying a full kitchen set?

Photos on screens can vary significantly due to display settings, lighting, and photography angles. Ordering a Sonona Sand Sample Door allows you to see the actual finish, color, and surface texture in your home’s natural lighting alongside countertops, flooring, backsplash, and paint samples. This helps you confirm the warm medium-brown tone before purchasing matching cabinetry.

What size is the Sonona Sand Sample Door?

The Sonona Sand Sample Door measures 14 inches wide by 15 inches high. This GHI Custom Cabinetry sample allows you to examine its Shaker-style frame, recessed center panel, and sand-brown finish before purchasing full-size cabinets.

Are samples fully finished door samples or just small color swatches?

Our sample doors are actual finished door faces designed to represent the materials, construction, and finishing processes used for full-sized cabinet doors. They allow you to examine the door proportions, profile, and finish rather than relying on a small flat color swatch.

Materials & Quality Inspection

What should I look for when examining my door sample?

When inspecting your Sonona Sand Sample Door, pay attention to these details:

• Construction: Examine the Shaker-style frame, recessed center panel, edges, and overall door assembly.
• Finish Quality: Observe the warm brown color, surface consistency, and finish along the door edges.
• Profile Detail: Inspect the frame proportions and recessed center panel to ensure the design matches your kitchen style.

Why does my painted sample door list HDF/MDF instead of 100% solid wood?

High-Density Fiberboard (HDF) and Medium-Density Fiberboard (MDF) are engineered wood materials commonly used in cabinet doors because they can provide a stable, smooth surface. Sonona Sand has a wood-toned appearance, and its exact door frame and center-panel materials should be confirmed against the manufacturer’s specifications before identifying them as solid wood, HDF, or MDF.

Why does my stained sample door look slightly different from the photos online?

Stained wood finishes can show natural variations in grain patterns, color, and texture. Lighting conditions, photography, and screen settings can also affect how the Sonona Sand Sample Door appears online. Viewing the physical sample under different lighting conditions helps you evaluate its actual brown finish and surface appearance.

Shipping

How long does sample shipping take?

Sample doors typically ship within 2 to 5 business days. Standard ground shipping usually delivers within 3 to 7 business days depending on your location.

Is shipping for sample doors free?

Yes, shipping is free for sample doors.
