Frequently Asked Questions
These are popular questions about sample doors that our team handles regularly.
Ordering & Availability
Why should I order a Edgeline Ridge door sample before buying a full kitchen set?
Photos on screens can vary significantly due to display settings, lighting, and photography angles. Ordering a sample allows you to see the exact finish, wood grain, and color in your home’s natural lighting alongside your countertops, flooring, backsplash, and paint samples.
What size is the Edgeline Ridge sample door?
Sample doors from US Cabinet Depot are 11 inches wide by 15 inches high by ¾ deep. They feature full-scale stiles, rails, center panels, and edge profiles so you can inspect the exact quality, construction, and finish.
Are samples fully finished door samples or just small color swatches?
Our door samples are actual door faces made with the same materials, construction, and multi-step finishing processes as full-sized cabinet doors. They show true door proportions rather than just a flat wood sample block.
Cost & Sample Rebates
Is the cost of sample doors refundable?
Yes! Ship your sample door back to Waverly Cabinets in good condition within 30 days of purchase or loan for a full refund.
Do I need to return the sample door to get my refund?
Yes, customers are required to return their sample doors for a full refund. Please reference our sample door return policy for further information.
Materials & Quality Inspection
What should I look for when examining my door sample?
When inspecting your Edgeline Ridge sample door, pay close attention to:
-
Construction: Check for solid wood frames, dovetail or mortise-and-tenon joints, and sturdy center panels (HDF/MDF for painted doors, solid wood or veneer for stained doors).
-
Finish Quality: Look for smooth paint coverage without runs or thin edges, or consistent stain distribution highlighting natural grain.
-
Profile Detail: Feel the inner door grooves and outer edge profiles to ensure they match your design vision (e.g., crisp Shaker vs. detailed traditional bevels).
Why does my stained sample door look slightly different from the photos online?
Stained wood doors showcase natural hardwoods (such as oak, maple, birch, or hickory). Because every tree has unique grain patterns, knots, and color variations, no two stained doors are identical. Your sample gives a precise representation of the stain color and wood character range.
Shipping
How long does sample shipping take?
Sample doors typically ship within 2 to 5 business days. Standard ground shipping usually delivers within 3 to 7 business days depending on your location.
Is shipping for sample doors free?
Yes, shipping is free for sample doors.
Care & Next Steps
How should I test my sample door at home?
-
Test in different lighting: View the door in natural morning sunlight, afternoon light, and under your home’s artificial lighting (warm white vs. cool white LEDs).
-
Pair with materials: Place the sample horizontally against your flooring and vertically under countertop slabs or backsplash samples.
-
Test for durability: Check how easily fingerprints wipe away and observe the door finish at eye level.
What should I do with my Edgeline Ridge sample doors after my project is finished?
Since you don’t need to return them, sample doors make great DIY wall shelves, tray bases, or reference pieces for future home decor updates!
